Introduction to Hardware & Software Prediction/Prefetch

Abstract
In the realm of computer hardware, the efficient management of data and instruction flow is paramount for achieving optimal performance. Two critical methodologies that have been developed to enhance system throughput are prediction and prefetch techniques. This talk aims to provide a comprehensive introduction and comparison of these methods, highlighting their individual strengths, weaknesses, and applications within modern hardware architectures.
